This is the band that motivated us to start this website.
We'd booked them in clubs from Utah to California and often got in trouble because they were:
- too rock'n'roll
- too loud
- too aggressive
- too energetic
So we wanted to call them "Classic Rock."
Then someone suggested, "PSYCHEDELIC FOLK ROCK," and we liked that too... 
But they are new music, not old classics -- even if they do sound like sixties folk rock.
Although the category, "Folk Rock," has existed for decades, radio stations don't ever say, "Folk Rock."
So we're hoping that American Zen will lead the way out-of-the-closet, or wherever those folk rockers are hiding, so that people will walk into a record store and say, "Where is your folk rock music section?"
Led by The Coyote, American Zen has been through many transformations and had many talented and famous people join them onstage.
